#Megatune vs tunerstudio how to
So any "Megatune manual" or "TunerStudio manual" or help files could really only give the most basic information about how to operate the tuning program. ini file that's included with the Megasquirt software. in both tuning softwares are defined by the. With regard to the manuals, the tricky part is almost all of the menus, dialogs, etc. What's important to realize here is the "dashboard" in TunerStudio is highly customizable and a similar indicator could easily be added. Re the O2 sensor feedback, I think what the OP is referring to is the giant bar-graph-like thing that went across the bottom of the screen. The table won't be exactly correct for your engine, but it's a good starting point. It asks a few questions like idle speed and MAP, and torque & horsepower numbers and what RPM they occurred at, and then creates a VE table for you. Megatune also has a nice feature that will autogenerate a basic VE map. I always thought that was cool since it all happened inside the ECU, no computer required. Re auto-tune, if I recall correctly (it's been many moons since I used it), the B&G code for MS2 had an "autotune" function built in. Which one do you like, and why? I knew it would, and took it on precisely so my old brain would get a work out. In fact this entire project has taken me out of my comfort zone. However, I feel very unsure of how to get the files for 3.57 downloaded into the laptop to allow it to communicate with the new ECU.Įither one is going to take me out of my comfort zone, as I will have to download something for either one and get it installed and working. And I have used it in the past, and am comfortale with its look and feel.
#Megatune vs tunerstudio manual
If I did so, this would be a complete tuning package, and would look like what the screen shots in the Manual show. I have not downloaded the ini files for Megatune to allow me to use this software with the new ECU. Much of the trouble shooting aids and all of the help menu is not there.
#Megatune vs tunerstudio upgrade
However, until you pay the upgrade fee, it is very incomplete. I was told by Matt to download that for the new MS II ECU as it was easier to use. The question above needs to be answered before I can make progress beyond where I am. After trying to get the ignition part to work, I have messed things up to where it no longer runs. I have the new ECU installed and until recently ran it without timing control. It ran pretty well, but was not dialed in on the VE tables. I am trying to run MS II 3.57 code 2.1.0, which was an "upgrade" from an older MS ECU which worked flawlessly, but, with limited controlling power and features (tuned with Megatune 2.25.).
